Ian Lamb FCA CF is the firm’s Managing Partner, he trained and qualified at Smailes Goldie Group before becoming a partner in 1983 at the age of 25.

He specialises in complex tax planning issues for all types of businesses including large landed estates and has developed a high level of expertise in corporate acquisitions, disposals and reconstructions, having acted for many years for one of the UK’s most active corporate acquirers.

Ian has built a team of corporate finance specialists within the practice, who carry out due diligence and transactional work. Ian is highly experienced in acting as a lead adviser, frequently assisting with commercial and contractual negotiations, and is a specialist in dealing with tax deeds and warranties. Ian also specialises in trusts and tax planning for landed estates and high net worth individuals.

Ian’s high level of expertise in all areas of tax, gives the firm a unique service to offer their wide-ranging portfolio of clients.

Outside of the work Ian’s interests include ballroom dancing (as a former professional coach), walking, motorcycling, salmon fishing, supporting rugby league and in particular, ice hockey, where the firm is main sponsor to the Hull Pirates.
