Starting at the firm in 2013 as a trainee, Jamie Chilcott became a Manager in 2019 and has now been made a Partner at Smailes Goldie in 2023
May 2022
Matt Fox joins Smailes Goldie as a Partner, having spent the previous 16 years working in a Big Four firm.
2022
Billy first joined Smailes Goldie in 2010 as an Audit and Accounts Trainee and later became a Manager in 2016. Billy was made a Partner of the firm in 2022.
2021
Ben Thiim returned to Smailes Goldie in 2017 and was made Director of Capital Taxes, having started and trained with the firm in 2003 before relocating to London. In April 2021 Ben was appointed as a Partner.

Faye Sherwood joined Smailes Goldie in April 2021 as an Assistant Manager and in July 2022 she was promoted to Accounts Manager

Victoria Shannon joined Smailes Goldie in May 2013 and was soon promoted to Manager in 2014. In 2017 Victoria was made Director of Agriculture and Landed Estates and in April 2021 was made a Partner of the firm.

New starters include Adam Humble and Alex Taylor in our Audit and Accounts team.
2020
New starters include Ellie Brennan, Natasha Tucker, Katie Cadwaladr and Jake Grainger in our Audit and Accounts team. Jasmine Ullyott in our Agriculture & Landed Estates team and Daniel Adamson into our Tax Department.
2020
Max Hinson joined Smailes Goldie in May 2016 as a Trainee and became ACA qualified in December 2019. Max then went on to take on a different position within the firm in January 2020 as a Corporate Tax Senior. In July 2022 Max completed his CTA qualification and was later promoted to Corporate Tax Manager.
2019
Jamie Chilcott started with the firm in 2013 as Trainee then later progressed with Smailes Goldie and in 2019 was promoted to Manager.
2018
New starters include Bethany Tang within the Agriculture and Landed Estates team, as well as trainees Thomas Kipling and Nathan Lutkin in our Audit and Accounts team.
2017
Lois Large started at Smailes Goldie as a Marketing Assistant in October 2017. Lois started the firm straight from college after gaining four A* and one A at A-Level.
2017
Mike Stocks and Luke Taylor were appointed as Partners of the firm, having both joined as Trainees in September 2009.
2016
Laura Clarke joined Smailes Goldie in 2016 as a Supervisor, having trained with another local firm and gained a first class degree in Accounting from the University of Hull.

Donna Brasier joined the firm as a HR officer in 2011 and in 2016 was promoted to HR Manager.

David Hibbert joined Smailes Goldie in March 2016 and was appointed as Director of Corporate Tax in 2017.

Rachel Edge joined the firm in 2014 as a Senior and later was promoted to Manager in our Audit and Accounts Department in 2016.
2015
Peter Dearing started at the firm in 2002 as a Trainee and later worked his way up to a Manager in 2009. In 2015 Pete was promoted to an Associate of the firm and a year later was appointed as a Partner.
