Are you a detail-driven payroll professional looking for your next challenge in a supportive and forward-thinking environment? Smailes Goldie is looking for a Payroll Officer to join our growing team at our Hull office.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused setting and enjoys working across a variety of payrolls and sectors. You will be joining a friendly, experienced team that takes pride in delivering outstanding service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing multiple payrolls across various pay frequencies, including starters, leavers, temporary adjustments, pensions, and statutory payments.
- Submitting PAYE and EPS reports at month-end.
- Handling HMRC queries and supporting client compliance.
- Uploading pension contributions and managing pension scheme updates.
- Processing CIS information and completing monthly returns.
- Delivering accurate and timely payroll services to a diverse client base.
Qualification/Experience:
- Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills.
- A high level of accuracy and the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively.
- Experience using cloud-based payroll software.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Excel, and confidence in learning new systems.
- A solid understanding of statutory payments and payroll legislation.
- Knowledge of directors’ NIC, CIS, and various pension schemes.
- The ability to calculate payroll from gross to net with confidence.
