Wellbeing in the workplace relates to all aspects of our working lives, from the quality and safety of the physical environment, to how employees feel about their work, their working environment, climate at work and work organisation.
Here at Smailes Goldie the wellbeing of our workforce is of paramount importance, and we have a number of initiatives in place: –
Monthly Wellbeing Topic – each month we shine a light on a wellbeing topic (often relating to and relevant to an awareness day in that month), such as, mental health, dealing with stress, the advantages of a healthy diet and exercise etc.
Monthly Wellness Walk – each month we encourage employees in all our offices to meet for a lunchtime Wellness Walk. The Wellness Walks are an opportunity to take a break, chat to colleagues and enjoy some fresh air. These start at 1pm and are no longer than half an hour.
Wellbeing Check Ins – twice a year the HR team conduct a Wellbeing Check with every member of the team. This is an informal chat and covers all aspects of a person’s wellbeing.
