What does this role entail?
This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality business and administrative support to our Agriculture and Landed Estates team. You will help the department run smoothly, support client managers and partners, strengthen the management of our client portfolio and contribute to a consistently professional client experience. The role offers variety, ownership and the opportunity to improve how we work.
What are your responsibilities:
- Provide proactive administrative and organisational support across the department.
- Assist with monitoring deadlines, workflows and outstanding actions, helping the team remain organised and responsive.
- Coordinate departmental meetings, maintain clear action logs and support follow-up activity.
- Support managers and partners with client portfolio management and a range of related administrative tasks.
- Assist managers with work in progress management, including the preparation of client bills.
- Provide support with ad hoc projects and departmental improvement initiatives.
- Help organise team days, training sessions and other departmental activities.
- Assist with trust administration and client bookkeeping where required.
- Maintain and develop the department’s client database, ensuring information remains accurate and useful.
- Produce regular reports and analysis to help partners and managers understand and manage the client portfolio.
- Ensure client records and key relationship information are accurate and up to date.
- Support the delivery of a consistently high standard of client service.
- Help map and improve the client journey, from initial contact through to ongoing relationship management.
- Assist with internal file reviews and quality control, monitoring actions arising from client reviews.
- Coordinate client onboarding, including anti-money laundering procedures, to provide a smooth and professional experience for new clients.
- Support client communications, including newsletters, invitations, surveys and other targeted communications.
Skills/Experience
- A proactive approach and the confidence to take ownership of tasks.
- Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A commercially minded outlook and an interest in how a professional services business operates.
- Good data literacy, including strong Excel or spreadsheet skills and the ability to interpret information.
- A client-focused mindset and a clear understanding of what contributes to an excellent client experience.
- Confident verbal and written communication skills.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- An interest in reviewing and improving processes.
- Previous experience in administration, business support, client services, professional services or a similar role would be advantageous.
- Experience within accountancy or another professional services environment is desirable, but not essential.
