Thanks to roles at HMRC, the Big 4, and smaller firms, Ben has unique experience advising smaller family-run businesses to multinational corporations on a wide range of VAT issues.
He does not consider himself as a specialist in any particular area of VAT and prides himself in the ability to answer any VAT related query, no matter how obscure the fact pattern may be. Ben does however have specific experience in land and property, construction, partial exemption and defending clients from HMRC investigations.
Ben enjoys delivering advice based on a blend of regulatory and legislative understanding with practical experience, ensuring compliance whilst aiming to optimise VAT positions for clients. He loves the challenge of being a VAT advisor and takes great satisfaction helping clients solve often stressful or high impact problems.
Outside of the office Ben loves spending time with his young daughter, going for walks with his dog and playing and watching a variety of sports.
