Heather is an Accounts Manager in our Selby office. She joined the firm in 2005 (when it was known as JW Pickles & Co.), after completing her A levels and learnt on the job whilst starting her ACCA qualification.
She manages a portfolio of clients; sole trader, partnership, LLP, and limited companies where she guides and assists her clients with bookkeeping through to accounts and tax planning where necessary.
Many of her clients are from a farming background and with different family dynamics.
Heather likes that her role is varied, and every day is different. A typical day can involve her visiting clients and doing a site walk, discussing upcoming potential changes, and then heading back to the office to crunch the numbers to accompany the decisions made.
Heather really enjoys the personal touch she has with her clients, she is very approachable, so whether the issue is big or small they can work together towards a solution.
Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with her family and going out for woodland walks, visiting the local wildlife park and occasional theme parks with them. She also loves going swimming and enjoying a spa day with friends.
