Leading Hull and Yorkshire-based accounting firm Smailes Goldie has appointed Andrew Robinson as Partner, effective from 2 February 2026.

Andrew started his career at Smailes Goldie back in 2013 as an Audit and Accounts Senior. Over the course of his nine years at Smailes Goldie, he progressed to senior roles and quickly established himself as a valued member of the team, demonstrating great commitment to client service.

After several years in London working within the business advisory group of a top 15 national accountancy and tax firm, Andrew returns to the practice with expanded expertise gained from advising businesses across a wide range of sectors.

Ian Lamb, Managing Partner at Smailes Goldie, said: “It is a real pleasure to welcome Andrew back to the firm. He knows our culture, understands our clients and brings valuable experience from his time in London, which I’m sure will help strengthen the support we offer both existing and new clients. We are delighted to have him as part of the partnership and look forward to the contribution he will make.”

Andrew’s appointment reflects Smailes Goldies’ continued investment in talent, especially homegrown talent, and in ensuring clients continue to benefit from trusted, high-quality advice.

Commenting on his appointment, Andrew said: “I am delighted to be living back in the local area and to rejoin Smailes Goldie as a Partner. The firm played a significant role in my early development and exposure to many areas of the profession.

“I look forward to building on new and existing relationships with clients, professional contacts and colleagues, and I am excited to contribute to the future success of the firm and help our clients achieve their goals.”
